Biography
David Anthony Taylor is a distinguished Family Historian based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is the founder and Executive Director of the non-profit organization Black Pearls of Genealogy (BPOG). Under his leadership, BPOG is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich and diverse histories of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). The organization seeks to honor the legacy of these communities through extensive research and community projects, making historical records and personal narratives accessible to all.

BPOG’s mission is to illuminate the histories of BIPOC individuals, highlighting their contributions and ensuring their stories endure. The organization’s extensive research portal is a treasure trove of history, offering access to multiple free records for research. Each record and story are a testament to the endurance and strength of these communities.
Non-Profit Initiatives
Beyond research, BPOG is committed to honoring ancestors through various projects:
Memorial Installations: We are in the beginning stage of installing memorials in all 50 states to commemorate local BIPOC burial sites and cemeteries.
Community Projects: Engaging with communities to preserve local heroes and significant historical sites.
