About this Site

Memorial Tribute: In our quest to ensure that these crucial events do not fade into oblivion, we will be placing memorials at identified historical locations throughout the United States. These memorials will serve as everlasting reminders of the events, the people, and the sacrifices made. They will be a testament to our shared history, ensuring that future generations are educated, informed, and inspired.

At Black Pearls of Genealogy, we are more than just a Non-Profit memorial site; we are dedicated to the celebration and remembrance of the diverse and rich histories of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Our commitment goes beyond mere acknowledgment; we strive to create a tangible and lasting tribute to the lives and legacies of those individuals who have contributed immensely to our shared history and culture.

Understanding the importance of connection to one’s roots, we offer an extensive range of tools and resources aimed at facilitating your research into ancestral histories and the creation of meaningful memorial projects. Whether you’re tracing your family lineage, seeking to commemorate a loved one, or looking to learn more about the unsung heroes of the BIPOC community.

Our platform is more than a repository of names and dates; it’s a space where stories come to life, where the past meets the present, and where every individual’s contribution is valued and honored. Join us as we build a community of memory, recognition, and respect, and help us keep the legacy of these remarkable individuals alive for generations to come.

Our Mission

At Black Pearls of Genealogy, our profound commitment is to honor, recognize, and pay tribute to the lives, contributions, and legacies of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Our history, rich with tales of resilience, perseverance, and strength, has often been overshadowed by marginalization, neglect, and intentional erasure. We are dedicated to the rectification of these historical injustices, acknowledging the unwavering spirit of BIPOC individuals and communities that have impacted the fabric of the United States.

Our Objectives

1.Historical Recognition: To actively identify and highlight significant local historical events that have profoundly shaped and influenced BIPOC communities. These events, while not always given the attention they deserve, form the core of our nation’s history and have left indelible marks on our collective consciousness.

2. Honoring the Enslaved, Free People of Color, and the US Colored Troops (USCT): Apart from marking significant events, we are also dedicated to recognizing and honoring the formerly enslaved and members of the US Colored Troops (USCT). Memorials will be placed in their memory, signifying the invaluable role they played in shaping the nation.
